Feeling a bit special today.

This morning I received an email announcing that I am a finalist in the annual Australian poster competition. The poster titled Commodity, will be exhibited outside Federation Square as part of the Melbourne Design Festival from the 5th - 15th July.
To see the poster take a look at my 27th May post below - it’s the one on the right.

Did I mention I am a finalist?!!!

What does music look like?
Here are two examples, ACDC’s Who Made Who (above) and Mozart’s 4th symphany 39 (below). Courtesy of Martin Wattenberg whose work I found on an amazing site - www.visualcomplexity.com/vc/
Anyone who is a creative geek will no doubt pee themselves with excitement over this site. Take a look.

Mid Sunday afternoon and I just rose to a wicked headache. Self inflicted so no sympathy required.
Supposed to be working, but thought I’d just pop in and post two posters I submitted on Friday for the National Design Centre annual poster competition. The theme this year was ‘When it rains, it pours’.

What dreams are made of.Every so often a film comes along that you just can’t stop thinking about. That film for me at the moment is The Science of Sleep, a film by Michel Gondry, director of many surreal music videos, tv commercials and films. The Science of Sleep is a highly creative film, where a young man’s imagination runs wild, mostly in his dreams and sometimes in reality, creating a visionary feast for a designer like myself.

Initially I left the cinema feeling sad, being reminded of an ex who had similar personality traits to the main character in the film. Simultaneously though it has inspired me, reminding me to see things around me a little differently. I think we all forget to do that sometimes.
